Fort Worth’s quintessential hotel honors 100 years of history and culture
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Hilton Fort Worth, a Remington Hotels property that has been welcoming guests since 1921, is proud to celebrate 100 years this December.
Hilton Fort Worth, built as The Hotel Texas, opened Dec. 3, 1921 as the largest hotel in the city. Designed by Sanguinet & Staats and Mauran, Russell, & Crowell and Westlake Construction Co., the property has been recently renovated to become the premier hotel choice for locals and visiting guests. Today, the property offers 294 comfortable guest rooms, 22,667 square feet of meeting and event space and a modern fitness center. The property is also home to three dining outlets including a local taproom embodying the spirit of Texas named 8th & Main, a grab-and-go destination called Herb N’ Kitchen and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, a fine dining establishment.
Throughout the past century, Hilton Fort Worth has hosted numerous public figures and is most well-known as the location of President John F. Kennedy’s final address in the Crystal Ballroom. The hotel has also earned numerous awards and accolades, from the National Trust for Historic Preservation to a Historic Hotels of America designation.
“It’s an honor to be a steward of this seasoned hotel and the focus of the owners, operators and designers has been to balance preserving the historical significance of the hotel while maintaining modern facilities,” said Stan Kennedy, chief operating officer, Remington Hotels. “When future generations look back 100 years from now, it is our goal to ensure this rich history is not forgotten but expanded upon with similar passion for hospitality.”
The landmark hotel is centrally located next to Sundance Square, home to the city’s best restaurants, shopping destinations and cultural stops. Hilton Fort Worth is minutes away from other attractions including the Fort Worth Stockyards, Texas Christian University and the Fort Worth Convention Center and 30 minutes from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
