Cambridge, England – In celebration of the first LGBTQ event taking place in Cambridge this summer, Hilton Cambridge City Centre has introduced a lemon drizzle rainbow cake. Layered in the six colours of the Pride flag, the commemorative cake also offers a significant message: Love is sweet and colourful, and regardless of how we appear on the outside, we are all the same on the inside.

The delicious cake, created by the hotel’s head chef Stavros Kanakidis, was available at the hotel’s Lounge Bar during Cambridge Pride from 8-9 June 2019, when guests were able to enjoy a piece of this rainbow cake with their favourite coffee for just £6.00. As the team said, “You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy cake, and it is almost the same… and if it is a rainbow one, even better.”

Richard Finn, General Manager at Hilton Cambridge City Centre, said: “Diversity and equal rights are at the core of our values. I am very proud of my team for taking part of this activity and creating this celebratory cake that represents much more than just an afternoon treat, and I wish everyone at Cambridge a memorable and happy first Pride Parade weekend.”

Hilton Cambridge City Centre is located at 20 Downing Street, Cambridge CB2 3DT, United Kingdom.
