Do you love the beach? How about marine life? Well, what if we told you that you could have access to both of those for free? That’s precisely what Coco Palm Dhuni Klohu resort and the Maldives is offering this summer with their two-week internship program at the property’s turtle rescue center.
Yes, the luxury property will cover all of your expenses to come and hang out with the adorable aquatic creatures for 14 days in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. What will you have to do in return? Well, you’ll have to help look after the turtles. That means you’ll feed the turtles, clean their tanks, watch over surgeries, go on rescue missions, and collect turtles when necessary, assist with the release of rehabilitated turtles back into the ocean, and interact with guests. The applicant will also have to post about the experience on Instagram.
You won’t get paid for the gig, but the resort will cover all meals from the hotel’s Cowrie restaurant, flights, accommodations in a villa (potentially an overwater one), as well as some recreational activities. A sunset cruise, dolphin watching, scuba diving, and snorkeling in the majestic Baa Atoll are all included in the internship. That’s roughly a $6,300 trip for free.
Best of all, you’ll get to work with the UK’s leading turtle specialist veterinary surgeons, Claire Petros, aka an excellent resume addition.
Sound like something you could get on board with? The position is open to anyone in the world 18 or older and doesn’t require any previous experience. Although they do want someone who is interested in marine life. To apply, you must submit a two to three-minute video and a 500-word essay stating why you would be a good fit by June 31. The internship will take place this August.
